Pregnant Kate Meets Mary Berry On Charity Visit

Prince William has joked his wife Kate could do with "a few lessons" in cooking from celebrity food writer Mary Berry.

His comments came as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge separately met the cordon-bleu presenter of TV's The Great British Bake Off as they visited one of William's charities.

"My stomach is a big fan of yours," he admitted to Berry, asking her: "Do you do chocolate brownies? I love chocolate brownies."

The prince then admitted "actually it's me who really needs lessons, to be honest!"

Kate, now five months pregnant, also admitted her love of cakes telling Berry moments earlier: "I love your cookbooks and I love your cakes, they're so delicious."

Berry has been patron of the Buckinghamshire-based charity Child Bereavement UK for more than eight years.

She lost her son William after he died in a car accident at the age of 19 whilst a student at Bristol Polytechnic.

Prince William has been a patron of the charity since 2009.

One bereaved father, who did not want to be named, said the Duke brought up the death of his mother, Diana, during their conversation.

"He just mentioned the fact he had lost his own mother. William said 'you do realise I've been in similar circumstances'," he said.

Both William and Kate got down onto their knees to help young children in a demonstration about how they remembered their lost loved ones.

Prince William then revealed his mischievous side by trying to pop bubble wrap.
