Probe As Plane Crash Kills 11 Skydivers

Eleven skydivers have been killed in a plane crash in Poland.

The aircraft burst into flames when it came down shortly after take off near Czestochowa in the south of the country.

Only one person survived. He has been taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition.

National firefighters spokesman Pawel Fratczak, said the twin engine aircraft was on a training flight at the time.

A few minutes after taking off from the small airport of Rudniki, the plane crashed in an orchard in the village of Topolow.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Firefighters said the Piper Navajo aircraft may have been overloaded.

Experts said it was the worst passenger plane crash in Poland in many years.

A Polish air force crash in 2010 that killed the Polish president and 95 others came down in Russia.
