Professor Green On Drink-Driving Charge
Rapper Professor Green has been charged with drink-driving over an incident in the road where he lives.
The performer, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and later re-arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in November.
The 30-year-old - who is married to Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh - was held after police were called to an alleged robbery in Tyrwhitt Road in Lewisham, southeast London, at around 2.40am on November 3.
Officers found a Mercedes had been in a crash with a van at the scene.
There were no reports of injuries, but the rapper was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and bailed to appear at a southeast London police station.
The Crown Prosecution Service decided he should be charged with drink-driving, but allegations of perverting the course of justice will not be pursued.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Stephen Manderson, aged 30, of Tyrwhitt Road, has this evening been charged with drink-driving following an incident† on†November 3 in Tyrwhitt Road.
"He will appear on bail at Bromley Magistrates' Court on March 20."
