Prometheus still on top at box office

Alien prequel Prometheus has held onto its place at the top of the box office chart for the third consecutive weekend.

The sci-fi blockbuster, starring Michael Fassbender, took £2 million in ticket sales, beating Men in Black III which came in second, banking £1.5 million, and Snow White and The Huntsman, which charted third and took £1.3 million.

The big screen adaptation of stage production Rock of Ages debuted in fourth place, taking £1 million.

Completing the top five, the previous weekend's number four, The Pact, dropped one place, taking £476,000.
