R. Kelly plans comeback after health scare
R&B star R. Kelly has proved he's recovering well after throat surgery by recording a new track about his health scare.
The singer underwent an emergency operation in July to have an abscess in a tonsil drained after suffering severe pain.
Now Kelly has returned to the studio to record new song Shut Up!, which takes aim at critics who predicted his throat problems would wreck his career.
In the track, Kelly sings, "People said that I was gone/ Said there was no way this time he's going to overcome/ Even before the doctors was done and I could awake/ A tsunami of rumours had come to wipe my career away...
"He's washed up, he's lost it, he ain't got it no more/ Well I'm here to tell you today, boy you haters are so slow!"
In a post on Twitter.com, Kelly reveals Shut Up! is the first song he's written since his hospitalisation, adding: "It's been a long time coming but I finally feel a lot better about my throat since the surgery... Enjoy!"
