Rapper's romantic ambition

50 Cent is hoping to expand his acting resume - by starring in a romantic comedy.

The rapper made his big screen debut in 2005 with semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin', in which he played a gun-toting drug dealer.

He has also starred in 2006 film Home of the Brave as a soldier returning home from the Iraq War, and alongside Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in 2008's Righteous Kill.

But the hip-hop star - real name Curtis Jackson - wants to break away from the tough-guy role before he becomes typecast, and admits he would happily sign up for a light-hearted movie if the right script came along.

He tells Glamour magazine, "Of course, but it has to be believable and I have to feel I can bring the character to life. I'd do a romantic comedy if I liked the script."
