Razzie Nominations: Sandler Film Leads The Way
An Adam Sandler film has the unenviable accolade of picking up the most Razzie nominations for the second time in three years.
Grown Ups 2 leads the way in the annual Golden Raspberry Awards which recognise the worst movies of the year.
The story of four childhood friends has been shortlisted for eight prizes including worst picture, sequel, ensemble, and screenplay.
Sandler, Salma Hayek and Taylor Lautner†are all nominated in worst acting categories, while director Dennis Dugan is also listed.
The film, which is the sequel to 2010's Grown Ups, also stars Kevin James and Chris Rock.
The Razzie awards launched in 1980 as a spoof of Hollywood's awards season.
In the past, films such as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and The Last Airbender have received the uncoveted worst film award.
Sandler is no stranger to the Razzies - he won the worst actor trophy last year for the comedy That's My Boy.
His cross-dressing comedy Jack and Jill made Razzie history with a record 10 awards in 2012, with Sandler winning both the worst actor and actress prizes.
This year's other worst picture nominees are The Lone Ranger, starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer, Tyler Perry's holiday comedy A Madea Christmas,†sci-fi†tale After Earth starring Will and Jaden Smith, and the star-studded Movie 43.
After Earth, A Madea Christmas and Movie 43 are all tied with six nominations each.
Most winners do not attend the ceremony, although in the past Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock have shown up in person to claim their gold spray-painted prizes.
Razzie winners will be announced on March 1, the night before the 86th annual Academy Awards.
