Rob Ford To Run Again For Toronto Mayor
Rob Ford, who has admitted smoking crack, has put his name on the ballot to run for another term as mayor of Toronto.
Mr Ford was the first candidate to show up at City Hall when registration opened on Thursday for the election in Canada's largest city.
The 44-year-old has been under intense pressure to resign following his admission of drug use, and other erratic behaviour.
Amid the controversy, the City Council has stripped him of most of his powers.
But the conservative mayor remains popular among some voters.
He has denied being a drug addict, and said he made a mistake when he smoked crack "in a drunken stupor".
The municipal vote in Toronto is scheduled for October 2.
