Rob Lowe awarded with Anti-Defamation League honour
Arnold Schwarzenegger's estranged wife Maria Shriver helped honour actor Rob Lowe during a special Anti-Defamation League (ADL) event in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The organisation's 2012 Entertainment Industry Awards took place in Hollywood and The West Wing star was the toast of the night thanks to his years of activism and commitment to stamp out bullying.
Journalist Shriver was on hand to present her longtime friend with the prize, telling the crowd, "He knows deeply that words can hurt - he was called a 'theatre fag' as he grew up. His whole life is authentic."
Film executive David Weil was also feted at the ceremony, hosted by True Blood beauty Janina Gavankar.
