Roger Daltrey donates mic to Japan sale

The Who rocker Roger Daltrey is helping to raise money for victims of the 2011 tsunami in Japan by donating an autographed microphone for sale.

The veteran singer is in the Far East for a series of concerts this week and he decided to do his bit for those affected by the disaster.

After a concert in Tokyo, Daltrey autographed the mic he used during the show and donated it to the people of Japan for sale in aid of the tsunami victims.

According to ClassicHitsandOldies.com, he told fans, "I can't give you a vocal cord but I've given you some sweat and here's a microphone."

The mic has since been put up for auction online, and the profits will be divided between the Japanese Red Cross and The Teenage Cancer Trust.
