Royal Baby: Sophie Winkleman Gives Birth
Actress Sophie Winkleman has given birth to her first child with husband Lord Frederick Windsor at her side.
The baby girl was born on Thursday at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles, where the couple are based, and weighed 7lb.
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who have become grandparents for the first time, issued a statement on behalf of their son and daughter-in-law announcing the birth.
They also confirmed their granddaughter has been named Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina.
The new royal baby follows the birth of Prince George, born to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge last month.
The proud grandparents also said in a statement that Lord Frederick was present at the birth of his daughter.
They added: "Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's family and Sophie's family have been informed and are delighted with the news."
The baby girl is 42nd in line to the throne, and the Queen, who is a cousin of Prince Michael, has been told of the news.
Ms Winkleman, 33, whose Royal title is Lady Frederick Windsor, has starred in the TV sitcoms Peep Show and Two And A Half Men.
She married Lord Frederick, 34, at Hampton Court in September 2009.
