Russell Brand celebrates 10 years sober

Funnyman Russell Brand marked a major milestone this week as he celebrated 10 years sober.

The comic spent years battling a dangerous drug habit and an alcohol addiction, and he endured numerous gruelling stints in rehab as he fought to get clean.

Brand, who is currently on a stand-up tour of New Zealand, has now revealed he celebrated his 10-year anniversary of sobriety on Thursday.

In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "10 years clean... Thanks for all your messages of love... Anyone can get clean, one day at a time."

Brand received a slew of supportive messages, including a post from Australian singer/actress Natalie Imbruglia, who told the star, "Congrats (sic), that's amazing! Well done."
