Sarah Burton: I'd Love To Dress Pregnant Kate
The Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress designer Sarah Burton has told Sky News she "would love to" design maternity wear for Kate.
Picking up her OBE at Buckingham Palace, the McQueen designer also said when she heard Kate was pregnant she was "over the moon".
"It is such lovely news. William and Kate will be amazing parents," she added.
The creative director for Alexander McQueen was honoured for her services to the British fashion industry.
Named Designer of the Year in 2011, Ms Burton said working with Kate on her dress in the build up to her wedding day was "a real collaboration".
"She's incredible to work with, such a lot of fun and every minute a pleasure.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to have had the opportunities I've had. I have been very lucky."
Pregnant with twins, Ms Burton said she had no firm plans yet to launch a line of maternity wear for the Duchess, but added: "I'd love to", if the opportunity arose."
Ms Burton picked up her gong from the Prince of Wales, Kate's father-in-law.
"It was a very humbling moment. He was very warm and we spent a little time talking about Kate's dress.
"Prince Charles said how great the wedding day had been."
Ms Burton said her favourite dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge was the wedding dress and that she hoped to continue designing for the mum-to-be.
"Of course I'd love to continue designing for her, for as long as she wants me to."
