Double-Decker Crashes Into Field In Dorset

Five pupils and a driver have been taken to Poole hospital with minor injuries after a bus crashed into a field in Dorset.

The double-decker bus was carrying 56 pupils when it was reported to have overturned at around 8am.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the incident on the A350 between Upton and Lytchett in Poole.

The bus was heading from Kinson in Bournemouth to Kingston Maurward College in Dorchester at the time.

Dorset Police say all those on board were moved to safety while they waited for replacement transport.

None of the casualties are thought to be in a life-threatening condition, say South Western Ambulance Trust, adding that "there are a number of patients thought to be walking wounded and they will be treated by ambulance clinicians at a location near to where the incident occurred."

The road has been temporarily closed between Limberlost, the Upton bypass and Vine's Farm Shop.

I would not be too surprised if unruly children didn't grab the wheel.
