Selfie Trio Snapped By Stolen-Phone App

Police want to talk to three people who inadvertently took a selfie while trying to unlock a stolen phone.

The pictures were captured by an anti-theft app installed on the phone which secretly emailedthe pictures to the phone's owner, who contacted police.

Detectives believe the two men and a woman could help them return the phone to its owner after it was stolen in Steel Street, Liverpool.

Chief Inspector Mark Morgan, from Merseyside Police, said: "We work hard to trace those responsible for crime in our city, but the public are our eyes and ears and may have vital information that could assist with our investigations.

"We're determined to explore all avenues of investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice."

Police say they cannot be sure the people in the pictures actually stole the phone or whether they innocently took possession of it.
