Sharon Corr ordered to stay silent due to throat infection

The Corrs star Sharon Corr has been ordered not to speak for days after she was struck down with a throat infection.

The violinist is currently enjoying a role as a mentor and judge on TV talent show The Voice of Ireland, but her own vocal issues have struck the musician dumb.

Medics have advised her to stay mute until Sunday's show is filmed as Corr is due to perform onstage as part of the broadcast.

A source tells the Irish Sun newspaper, "Sharon is quite ill this week and has been told not to speak... Everyone is hoping she will be back on track by the weekend."
