Sir Roger Moore boycotts Fortnum & Mason over foie gras
Bond legend Sir Roger Moore is urging animal lovers to boycott a top department store which stocks foie gras.
The veteran star has stepped up his battle against bosses at Fortnum & Mason by narrating a graphic new expose, which shows how geese livers are fattened to make the controversial product.
Moore hopes the shocking undercover scenes, filmed by campaigners at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), will convince company bosses to remove the product from their shelves and he is calling on fans to avoid the London retailer in the mean time.
He says, "I am horrified by the callous treatment of geese that PETA investigators filmed on foie gras farms in France. I hope compassionate people everywhere will boycott Fortnum & Mason until they remove this 'torture in a tin' from their shelves and menus."
Funnyman Ricky Gervais, actress Joanna Lumley and singer Dame Vera Lynn are among the animal-loving stars who have also urged Fortnum & Mason to drop foie gras.
