Snoop Dogg slams The Voice

Rapper Snoop Dogg has slammed hit TV singing contest The Voice, insisting producers will fail to discover true pop stars among the contestants.

Judges on the U.S. show, which also launched in the U.K. earlier this year, choose wannabes for their vocal ability rather than their image and background.

But the Gin & Juice hitmaker is adamant the format is flawed because true stars rely on more than their singing talents to succeed.

He says, "The Voice (producers) don't understand that you need more than a voice to be an artist. You could have the best voice ever but be as boring as hell. I don't see it producing a One Direction or Susan Boyle."

So you are an "artist" are you Snoop Dogg ?. Go away and learn how to sing before you do that !!

Note related article; Snoop Dogg show axed over low ticket sales. Maybe 'speaking' over a backing track just doesn't quite grab audiences anymore.

Well, to be fair, "The Voice" is copping it from more substantial sources than this. Wasn't Susan Boyle a poor example to choose?! He seems to completely contradict himself on that point! Pimple!
