Songz's long wait to party
R&B singer Trey Songz was left waiting in the street outside a VIP party in New York last week after a fire marshal closed the event due to overcrowding fears.
The star arrived at the Big Apple bash for the release of the Def Jam Rapstar video game on Wednesday to join fellow hitmakers Estelle and Method Man who were enjoying the fun.
But after 1,500 guests crammed into the party at the city's Hudson Hotel, a marshal was forced to close down the festivities to ensure fire safety procedures were being upheld.
Songz was left out in the cold for 30 minutes before he was allowed inside, according to New York gossip column Page Six.
A source tells the publication, "So many people showed up that the fire marshal shut it down, leaving Trey outside waiting for a while. But he was relaxed and got right in once the doors opened."
