Stars Shine At Guardians Of The Galaxy Premiere
Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper celebrated together in Hollywood at the world premiere of Marvel's latest big film Guardians Of The Galaxy.
The stars were joined by Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close and Vin Diesel for the screening of the space adventure based on the comic book of the same name.
"I used to live 400 yards from here and they used to shut down Hollywood Boulevard and I would be like, 'Man, what's going on down there'. Now I know it's a big ol' premiere," said Pratt, who attended the premiere with his actress wife, Anna Faris.
"It's a night for us to celebrate all the hard work we did and we are having a lot of fun."
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to be among the summer's biggest hits.
"I don't want the hero that knows how to do everything right from the get go," said Saldana, who plays the heroine Gamora in the film.
"I like that these guys are thieves and assassins and prison escapees from jail and that they figure things out and try to give themselves a chance at being friends. I thought it was a beautiful message and it was unexpected. To work with James Gunn, he is an unconventional director and that is why he is right down my alley."
Marvel's brand already includes the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers.
"Yes, I am worried about the box office and I want the movie to do well," said Gunn when asked about the recent summer's overall slump at the box office.
"The main reason I want the movie to do well is that I want the opportunity to do another one. I love working with these people and I love working with Marvel. I want the chance to do this again and this has been a really fulfilling experience."
Guardians of the Galaxy first appeared in comic books in Marvel Super-Heroes in 1969.
The movie hits cinemas in the UK on July 31.
