Stella McCartney honoured with fellowship

Fashion guru Stella Mccartney has been handed an honorary fellowship by officials at the prestigious college she attended as a student.

Sir Paul McCartney's designer daughter returned to Central Saint Martins in London on Wednesday to receive her fellowship alongside this year's graduates.

She used the ceremony to officially launch a new sponsorship programme for students, which will be funded by her company.

McCartney told the graduates, "To get to a college like this is so hard for so many talented young people. For that reason, I am setting up this scholarship and I encourage other fortunate fashion houses to do the same."

The Stella McCartney Scholarship will fund students on the basis of "academic excellence and financial need" and will include a one-year paid placement at her fashion house.

McCartney famously used supermodels Naomi Campbell, Yasmin le Bon and Kate Moss in her Central Saint Martins graduation runway show in 1995 while her famous dad and her mum Linda cheered from the front row.

Using famous supermodels at her graduation show seems very cheap and unfair to the other "ordinary" students. Showing off at its worse.
