Take Me Out set for Stateside revamp

Take Me Out is the latest dating show to be greenlit for a U.S. remake.

Bosses at Fox network have begun casting a Stateside version of the hit series, which is hosted by funnyman Paddy McGuinness.

The game show has been a huge ratings success for ITV1 and even spawned the ITV2 spin-off The Gossip, featuring TOWIE hunk Mark Wright.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Fox is finalising a deal with American Idol production firm FremantleMedia North America for a trial series, with plans for a summer launch.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and Deal or No Deal have both become smash hits Stateside after they were revamped for U.S. audiences.

Take Me Out is actually based on the Australian show Taken Out, which was broadcast Down Under between 2008 and 2009.
