Tamara Ecclestone engaged

Socialite Tamara Ecclestone is engaged to her boyfriend Jay Rutland after a whirlwind romance.

The daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone has been dating the stockbroker for just a month after being introduced to him in January.

Despite the short romance, Ecclestone insists she knows Rutland is the man for her.

She tells Hello! magazine, "Our engagement has been very sudden and I get that there are people who won't understand that and will read things into it.

"When you know, you know. The thing is, I'd heard people say that before and I'd never really understood it, because I hadn't experienced it for myself. But when I met Jay, I just knew this was the man I was going to marry."

The engagement news comes days after Ecclestone testified in court against her former fiancee Derek Rose, who is accused of attempting to blackmail her for £200,000 to stay silent about their relationship.
