Texas Cop Rescues Woman From Train Tracks
A Texas police officer has been hailed a hero for dragging a woman off the railroad tracks just seconds before a train rushed by.
A camera mounted on Officer Ramon Morales' patrol car captured the rescue in the town of Richmond, about 20 miles southwest of Houston.
Officer Morales was patrolling the area when someone flagged him down to say that a woman was sitting on the tracks at a nearby crossing.
Footage shows the officer pulling up to the crossing just as the approaching train lights begin to flash.
Officer Morales then runs up to the grab the woman, dragging her clear of the tracks just moments before the train speeds by.
The woman can be heard crying hysterically as the policeman pulls her to safety.
Master Sergeant Lowell Neinast called Officer Morales a hero who saved the woman without regard to his own life.
Richmond police said the woman, who has not been identified, was taken to hospital for evaluation.
