The Bachelor dropped

Reality show The Bachelor has been dumped by TV bosses.

The dating show has previously featured rugby player Gavin Henson and Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews hunting for love, but Channel 5 chiefs have now dropped it after only two series.

Henson pulled in good ratings for the show, but the second series proved a TV turn-off - and after filming wrapped, both men failed to hang on to the women they picked to be their girlfriends.

An insider tells The Sun, "The show didn't do hugely well last year and Channel 5 are now giving it a rest.

"But it is a good format and the owners have been sounding out other broadcasters to see if anyone else is up for taking it on."

The Bachelor has proved a huge hit in the U.S. and was previously brought to the U.K. by the BBC 10 years ago - it aired on BBC3 for three series before being dropped.
