The Beach to be made into a TV show

Danny Boyle's hit 2000 movie The Beach is to be adapted into a TV series.
The film, based on Alex Garland's bestselling novel, starred Leonardo DiCaprio in the tale of a group of tourists who set up home in a Thai paradise with disastrous consequences.
The Beach garnered around £94 million at the worldwide box office, and 12 years later, bosses at the TV affiliate of the studio behind the movie, Twentieth Century Fox, have commissioned a small screen version.
Andrew Miller, the man behind popular but short-lived teen series The Secret Circle, will write the script.
Miller tells Deadline.com, "It's about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted from society who try to start over in paradise but discover that while creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder."
