The Maccabees lose Mercury Prize statuette
Rock band The Maccabees have appealed to fans for help after misplacing the statuette awarded to them on Thursday in recognition of their Mercury Prize nomination this year.
The band's album Given To The Wild missed out on the prestigious honour to fellow indie-rockers Alt-J's offering, An Awesome Wave.
The group was handed a statue to mark their nomination but they lost it within hours and are now hoping fans can help them locate the prize.
In a post on the band's official Twitter.com page, a spokesman writes, "If anyone finds a mercury nominee award with the maccabees engraved on it please let us know."
