The Only Way Is Essex for Rod Stewart's booksigning event
Rocker Rod Stewart is giving a boost to his local economy in Essex by signing copies of his autobiography in a small independent bookstore.
The Maggie May hitmaker's tome hit shelves earlier this month, and Stewart, who is married to model Penny Lancaster, will meet fans at The Epping Bookshop on 17 November to sign the memoirs.
He says, "I really wanted to do something for our local bookshop. Penny often pops in to buy books for the boys. It's nice to support independent shops too."
Lorna Clark, owner of the store, adds, "Rod has had a house in Epping for many years and we are absolutely delighted that he has chosen to support his local bookshop, we can't wait to host his signing here. Rod is a true icon and his songs trigger so many memories in all our lives, we know he has lots of fans in the local community and are looking forward to a great turnout on the day."
