The Saturdays support gay marriage campaign

Girl band The Saturdays have thrown their weight behind a gay marriage campaign.

Civil partnerships between same-sex couples are permitted in Britain, but organisers of Out4Marriage are pushing for the unions to be given the same rights as traditional marriage.

And the All Fired Up hitmakers have joined the campaign by shooting an online video in which they tell fans, "We know we can get married to the man of our dreams. But some people who are gay, lesbian or bisexual can't marry the man or woman of their dreams.

"That's why we support same-sex marriage. Marriage equality and equal love for all, regardless if they are same-sex or mixed sex couples. Lend your support to marriage equality and come Out4Marriage."

Does anyone know what is the difference between a Civil partnership and a Registry office wedding or is the demand for a wedding in a church that doesn`t want to know about it.

Why would a g*y person want to get married in a church - an establishment that has always shunned an berated them? I'd tell it to get stuffed! I was married in a fabulous hotel through choice and it was fab! As for The Saturdays lending "clout" to the debate, erm, ok!
