Three Killed In Stampede At Mexico Concert
At least three people have been killed after a wall collapsed during a stampede at a concert in Mexico.
Surveillance video captured the moment the structure crumbled under the weight of people scrambling to get out of the venue in Ecatepec, north of Mexico City.
Concert-goer Rogelio Martinez said people rushed the wall after finding themselves unable to evacuate the dance arena.
He said: "The exit used to evacuate the people was not enough. This is what caused the collapse of the fence."
Local officials said panic spread after a fight broke out at the La Arrolladora Banda El Limon show, which was attended by some 15,000 people.
Witnesses described hearing gunshots, which prompted people to rush the exits.
Another 15 people were injured in the chaos.
Nicolas Gauvry, a Red Cross staff member who attended the scene, said: "We evacuated the most critical patients.
"Eight people who were injured were treated at the Red Cross hospital, and one of them unfortunately died due to the severity of the injuries."
