Tiger Attack: Circus Trainer Killed In Mexico

A circus trainer has been mauled to death by a Bengal tiger during a live show in northern Mexico.
Alex Crispin Suarez, 35, was attacked as he performed his act in the town of Etchojoa, Sonora, on Saturday.
Amateur video of the attack showed the trainer circling two tigers and making the animals turn slowly while standing on low platforms.
On one pass, the tiger suddenly stops his spinning routine and reaches out and grabs the trainer around the legs.
Other circus employees immediately come to his aid, trying to drive the tiger off by hitting him with a metal stand.
But the animal refused to let go and savaged the trainer around the neck and upper body.
Panicked spectators then ran from the circus tent as the employees desperately tried to save the trainer.
Mr Suarez was taken to a nearby Red Cross Hospital, but died from massive blood loss.
The tiger has been locked inside a cage in the circus while authorities decide whether it should be destroyed.

Tigers are meant for the wild, not a circus in Mexico. Sorry, I have little sympathy.

Kimberley Lamb
The tiger is only following its instincts . Why kill it ???? Mistreated and forced to perform, it probably just had enough !!!!

Paul
Respect wild animals & this would never happen. Animals in a circus should be a thing of this past. Unlike humans animals don't do it out of spite it's instinct. Save the tiger.

Neil C
Poor poor tiger, sod the man. If you play with a wild animal then tough love fella.

Kerry Carline
Why kill the tiger.it's it's natural instinct.it doesnt say it was mistreated so we cant assume but dangerous animals and humans dont mix.the poor animal should be placed in a reserve somewhere.if it wouldnt be able to survive on it's own then a zoo at the very least whgch isnt ideal but at least it would be alive.it shouldnt be euthenised for being what it is.humans shouldnt mess around with them for entertainment.maybe and hopefully this will be a lesson learned for other circus.

Wave a piece of meat in front of any wild animal and it will grab it out of your hand what makes a human different all the poor tiger saw was its dinner

"A circus trainer has been mauled to death by a Bengal tiger during a live show". Well, durr. "Bengal tiger" and "live show" are hardly a wise combination. Stupid, irresponsible fools.

Why shoud it be destroyed?!!There are few tigers left in is world. The animal was probably fed up of its surroundings and bing locked up and hit etc.I'm sorry the mans dead, but thats what happens when you mess with WILDlife.

Katie Kidd
Hope lessons learned. They are wild animals not kittens to play with for cheap entertainment ! Save the beautiful tiger . . . how dare to even consider 'destroying ' it for being its natural born self !

Juliet Smith
I hate all animals being used in a circus,it's cruel making them perform stupid tricks. They should be in the wild. And, i don't feel sorry for the performer who was attacked either. And,no,the tiger should'nt be killed either.

Rob Shaw
GOOD! I'm glad that idiot was mauled to death. The treatment those poor animals have probably had to endure isn't worth thinking about. He got exactly what was coming to him. If that Tiger gets killed, it would be disgraceful. Poor thing
