TV veteran Duncan Norvelle suffers stroke
Comedian Duncan Norvelle has been left paralysed after suffering a stroke in April.
The 54-year-old funnyman, a regular on variety shows in the 1980s, has been recovering in hospital for nine weeks after suffering paralysis on his left side.
His manager Tony Jo says, "He's been in hospital since the first week in April. His left leg and left arm were paralysed."
Norvelle, best known for his 'Chase me' catchphrase, is expected to be discharged in the next two to three weeks.
A variety show fundraiser will be held in Blackpool in October to help support Norvelle and his family.
Jo adds, "Because of his situation, and what he's done for charity in the past, of course we'll look after him, as we do with every artist in Blackpool. We'll have a benefit show for him and we've got some wristbands done with 'Chase me' on them. We'll set up a trust to pay all his bills while he's off and hopefully he'll be back at work next year."
