Brits Kidnapped By Bedouin In Egypt: Reports

The Foreign Office is investigating reports a British couple were kidnapped by Bedouin tribesmen in Egypt.

Reports say the pair were released soon afterwards following negotiations with security officials.

The two were said to be taken in the Sinai Peninsula as they made their way by car from Cairo to the popular Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are trying to clarify the situation at this stage."

Security in the isolated desert region of the Sinai Peninsula has deteriorated since Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in the uprising in 2011.

What plonkers driving from cairo to sharm. Why not pop over to Syria for some sight seeing too?

They were probably advised not to, but some people just won't listen to good advice.

Mr. Obama and Mr. Hague praised the 'Arab Spring'. It will be on their heads when things go drastically wrong.
