Video: Lost Bear Falls From Tree In US

A 200lb black bear has been taken back to the mountains after it roamed onto a US university campus and climbed up a tree.

The animal became a minor celebrity after making his surprise appearance at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

He was filmed and photographed by onlookers as wildlife officers shot it with a tranquilizer gun.

It fell safely from a 15ft-high perch on to safety mats, landing on its back.

State wildlife offical Jennifer Churchill said on Friday that the bear was tagged, caged and taken to a remote area in the nearby Rocky Mountains.

Wow, what a scoop! A wild animal wanders into an area occupied by humans. Whatever next? Someone caught on camera buying beer from an off-license?
