Video: Girl Escapes Kidnap Attempt In Walmart
Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged of the moment a convicted killer allegedly tried to kidnap a young girl at a Walmart store.
Seven-year-old Brittany Baxter was grabbed by the man at the store in Bremen, Georgia, USA, on Wednesday.
In the footage a man can be seen grabbing the girl and trying to carry her away through an aisle of the large store.
But cool-headed Brittany remembered to use evasion tactics taught during a school 'stranger danger' lesson.
"I was looking at princess and fairy stuff," she said.
"I tried to kick as hard as I could. You try to get away and tell somebody you trust."
Brittany's mum Georgeann Baxter added: "She said that a man had tried to kidnap her.
"He had picked her up his hand over her mouth, but she was kicking and screaming. He then dropped her and ran out."
Local police quickly examined the store's CCTV footage and were able to trace the car after its numberplate was captured on film.
Thomas A Woods, who was on parole for voluntary manslaughter, now faces a charge of attempted kidnapping.
The 25-year-old denied the abduction attempt as he spoke to reporters as he was led into jail.
Bremen police chief Keith Pesnell said of the footage: "It's chilling to know how quick something can happen.
"It actually sent chills up me when I saw that."

Come on, when me and my brother were little as soon as we got into Tesco we ran straight to the toy aisle and stayed there til our mum had done the shop! I wouldn't let my son out of my sight now but is so so easy for them to disappear in the blink of an eye, you just never think anything bad is going to happen to them.

I was thinking just yesterday, statistically, increasing population is likely to be combined with increasing crime rates. Then I started to wonder, "But is that right?" Because, randomness and chaos theories suggest, an increasing population would also increase crime rates but, on a graph of annual results, randomness and chaos theory might imply, the alternative might happen and crime rates might, surprisingly to us all, one year, virtually disappear, then reappear the next year? He should buy her a Walmart scooter, bicycle and electronic toy go kart.

I think you have over-thought this!

Time the do-gooders werent allowed in these matters they are actually do-harmers. They should let the girls family have him alone in a room with no legal come backs. There is no reasonable doubt here.

Andy Cane
These type of people have no place in todays society, I dont want to understand their problems and if dogooders want him saved either threw education or Jesus you have him live with you. Hangings too good for them, let the family of the girl have there special time with him

Tina Nunn
Poor love, She was amazing, But where WAS mum. Let him hang not excuses...

Just what the hell is 'Voluntary manslaughter'? Surely if you 'choose' to kill someone that's murder isn't it?

Princess Angelique
Voluntary manslaughter occurs either when the defendant kills with malice aforethought (intent to kill or cause serious harm), but there are mitigating circumstances which reduce culpability, or when the defendant kills only with an intent to cause serious bodily harm. Voluntary manslaughter in some jurisdictions is a lesser included offense of murder. What idiot judge gave him bail?!?!?!

crichey56
i was thinking about that and all i could think of is switching a life support machine off? this video is shocking and i have to agree with the people saying let the family have their time with him alone and see what reasons he comes up with then!

We can all sit here and ask where mom was folks but if you cant take your 7 year old to a store and turn your back to pick up the bread without fear of abduction then the world should end right now!! Like this was her moms fault?????

This man should not be out on the streets.I was under the assumption that manslaughter was taking a life by accident/mistake.How can you voluntarily commit manslaughter, surely that is murder?.This man was out because deals are done by lawyers in order to save money/time.This little girl had a very lucky escape, now is the time to lock up this man for good.

This little girl was so lucky. It doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened to her had she not remembered her 'stranger danger' training.
