Vince Neil flying high in new reality show

Rocker Vince Neil is returning to the world of reality TV for a show chronicling his efforts to obtain a pilot's licence.
The Motley Crue singer enrolled in an accelerated training programme in his native Las Vegas over the summer, which was partly filmed for another U.S. series, The Aviators, and he decided to invite a camera crew of his own to follow his journey towards gaining his certification.
Vince Neil Escapes will feature the 51-year-old star as he battles the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) strict rules to be able to fly solo following a number of past convictions for driving under the influence (DUI).
He says, "I'm thrilled to be part of the series. It's a great ride. We do a lot of crazy partying in our travels, for sure, but what I've learned from this experience goes way past that. Flying has always been a huge dream for me, but the reality of learning something this disciplined has had a life-altering effect. It's taken time for it to sink in, but I've definitely gone through some unexpected changes."
A premiere date has yet to be scheduled for the U.S. programme.
Neil has previously dabbled in reality TV projects - he appeared on The Surreal Life in 2002, when he agreed to live in a house for two weeks with a group of other celebrities, and he showed off his ice skating skills in 2010 when he appeared on Skating with the Stars.
The rocker has always been a fan of planes - he owns private jet charter company Vince Neil Aviation.
