Weapons charges against Madonna fan dropped

Weapons charges against a former firefighter who was arrested outside Madonna's New York home in 2010 have been dismissed.

Manhattan state Supreme Court Judge Analisa Torres ruled on Friday that police officials had no right to seize a gravity knife and an ice pick from Robert Linhart when they arrested him outside the pop superstar's Central Park West apartment.

Linhart reportedly parked outside the building, laid out a huge canvas and spray-painted love notes addressed to Madonna.

One read: "Madonna, I need you."

A resisting-arrest charge against Linhart is still pending, according to the New York Post.
