White has daughter to thank for single name

Jack White has credited his young daughter with the title of his new single Sixteen Saltines.

The former White Stripes star was left bemused when his cheeky five-year-old Scarlett demanded sixteen Saltine crackers, and the chuckling rocker promptly wrote a song about the conversation.

He tells The Sun, "Saltines came from my daughter. I was working on a song and she asked me for a snack. I said, 'What do you want' and she said, 'I think I'll have 16 Saltine crackers. I said, 'I think you'll have three!' So she said, 'What about 12?' It was so funny.

"The next day I said, 'Listen, I wrote a song for you'. And I played it back for her. She blushed and turned away. The next time I played the song for her, she said, 'Yeah, I never said that.'"
