Whitney's Ex 'Not Wanted' At Star's Funeral
Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown has been told several members of the singer's family are against him attending her funeral, according to reports in the US.
Entertainment news website TMZ reports Brown is keen to attend the service at the church in Newark, New Jersey, to support their daughter Bobbi Kristina.
He is said to be blaming Houston's mother, Cissy, for wanting him barred from the funeral - although TMZ, citing sources close to Brown, reports he has not been told to stay away.
The couple had a rocky 15-year marriage during which Brown was accused of domestic abuse. They split in 2007.
Houston, who had a high-profile battle with drugs in the later years of her career, had previously blamed her addictions on Brown, also a singer.
The 48-year-old superstar will be remembered on Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church, where she performed publicly for the first time as a child.
Her family is reportedly considering an additional farewell concert at an 18,000-seat arena.
There has been widespread speculation about the circumstances surrounding Houston's death in her hotel room in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, on Saturday.
She was under water and apparently unconscious when she was found in the bath by a member of her entourage and had prescription drugs in her room, although authorities have not confirmed what the drugs were.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out, but officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests, which could take weeks.
TMZ has previously reported that the star died from a suspected combination of anxiety-reducing prescription drugs, rather than drowning.
Bobbi Kristina, 18, is understood to have been treated in an LA hospital for stress following her mother's death.
