£148.6m EuroMillions Jackpot Winners Named
A mother who won £148.6m on the lottery has told how she refused to go to sleep - and spent the whole night shopping on the internet.
Gillian and Adrian Bayford's massive EuroMillions windfall last week makes them the nation's second-richest lottery winners.
Facing the cameras, the couple, who have a six-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son, said the news had only just sunk in.
They revealed their daughter's first question was: "Do we have enough money to go to Domino's Pizza for tea?"
The pair said they would give money to friends and family who have "helped them in the good and bad times and now it's time to repay that".
Mr Bayford, 41, said he would carry on running his music shop in Haverhill, Suffolk, which he opened 17 years ago.
Mrs Bayford, 40, works as a children's ward healthcare assistant at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, and said she often had to work long night shifts.
She said she would now treat herself to her dream car, an Audi Q7.
Her husband said he had always wanted to visit the Canadian Rockies by train, and the children want to go to Disney World.
Mrs Bayford added: "Children's charities are close to our hearts so we will be exploring how we can use this money to help those charities but it is too soon to say exactly what."
They were keeping their identity a secret until today when they went public at Down Hall Country House Hotel, near Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.
After posing for the cameras, the pair were flown away by helicopter to a secret location.
The couple said they struggled to fully appreciate the moment they realised they had won.
"Our children had woken up so while Gillian was trying to settle them back to sleep, I went to check the numbers on my phone," said Mr Bayford.
"Gradually the numbers seemed to match-up with those on my ticket and I just couldn't believe what I was seeing!
"I rushed back and turned on the main light at which point Gillian went ballistic!
"The kids really were awake by now. I was trying to tell her that we had won the lottery and she was telling me to keep the noise down!"
Mr Bayford bought the winning ticket at a Premier Convenience Store, just yards from his shop.
The couple's £148,656,000 windfall means they now have a fortune to rival TV cook Jamie Oliver (£150m), according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
The sum is just behind the £161m landed by Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs in North Ayrshire, last July.
