A woman has suffered a serious head injury after falling from a coach travelling on the M42 motorway in the West Midlands.
The victim, in her 20s, is believed to have fallen from the vehicle's emergency exit near the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to junction six of the motorway shortly after 11pm on Sunday night.
An ambulance service spokesman said the woman had suffered a serious head injury and was stabilised at the scene before being taken to Coventry's University Hospital.

The National Exhibition Centre is in SOLIHULL not Birmingham. . Just like Birmingham Airport is in Solihull. . . Come on orange. . Try and get your geography right

As far as I know Orange are correct. NEC is in Birmingham. Just off junction 6 I think? Anyway, how on earth does someone fall out of an emergency exit of a coach?! Obviously I hope she's ok,but still... How odd

No, its part of Solihull Borough, under the control of the Metropolitan councill of Solihull. . . Fact

I don't care where the M42 is as long as they don' decide to dig it up and move it 3 feet to the right - like they seem to be doing EVERYWHERE else.

While I hope she's ok and makes a complete recovery obviously, you shouldn't fiddle with emergency exits' door handles. Once, on a school visit, I had to deal with a boy at the back of the coach after smelling some sort of incident. Said boy had been dangling his leg from the emergency exit, trying to impress his mates. The driver had seen his leg dangling from the exit but hadn't seen fit to tell me, apparently. I was less lenient. We were about 4 miles from school so we turned back to deposit the offending buffoon and matey missed out on a jolly nice day. If kids won't look after themselves, I will!
