Woman Sought In Train 'Racial Abuse' Inquiry
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a video appearing to show a woman racially abusing passengers on a train was posted on the internet.
British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to about the incident, which is believed to have taken place on a Woolwich Arsenal to Abbey Wood train in south east London on Tuesday.
It came after a 40-second clip appeared on YouTube showing a middle-aged passenger arguing with other commuters on board a busy train.
During the film, the woman is heard shouting "go home where you belong".
Detective Inspector Jeremy Walley, investigating the incident, said: "We have isolated images of a woman we believe may be able to help us with our investigation into the incident, which took place around 3.20pm.
"At this stage, we urge anyone who witnessed this incident, or who recognises the woman, to get in touch and help us build up a full picture of exactly what took place.
"We treat all allegations of racism very seriously and urge anyone with information about this incident to contact us."
what do you think?

What's the problem is it because she's white . if she was black or Asian it would not be in the media

Soooooo true Paul

Robinson56Chris
Sooooooo NOT true, Paul.

david
white people in our own country.have to be careful what we say if a none white person is present,e,g blackboard baa baa blacksheep, yet they can use the N WORD in every song they sing and we have to say thats fine.

Robinson56Chris
You only have to be careful what you say if you are thinking dumb racist thoughts. As for 'Baa Baa Black Sheep', that is a myth dreamt up by the Daily Mail. How is 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' allegedly racist? And, of course, you can say blackboard, we still use them you know. We also use whiteboards using washable marker pens. What nonsense. I've already explained the use of the 'N' word elsewhere on here so I won't repeat myself again.

Louisa Gieldon
I think it would attract equal or more attention. Racism from any group towards any group is ugly. Don't defend any of it.

david conway
Racism needs to be equally addressed from both sides. That is not currently the case and unfortunately will not be in our lifetime. There is guilt and moronic behaviour on all sides.

Truly truly disgusting to defend this rubbish and i am running out of patience and politeness when it comes to answering brainless racists.

more hounding of some poor woman who is just expressing her personal views.

Robinson56Chris
'Poor woman' 'just' expressing her vile racist views.

We are all free to give an opinion. Here's mine. Kneecap I hate racism and you clearly agree with the vile remarks that this idiot was spouting on the train. I think you have cause to be very ashamed of yourself

Louisa Gieldon
Expressing her vile personal opinions in a public place to other people who didn't want to be harrassed and bullied on their trip.I doubt very much if any of her fellow passengers turned and asked her about her viws on immigration and multi-culturalism! I want to use public transport and not be subjected to the dangerous, vicious and utterly repellent views of brainless racists like her. Count yourself in if you wish!

simon calvert
She may be poor, but she is obviously a very low class idiot, of course she can say what she likes but she is hardly expressing her views with any eloquence. She is without doubt common, stupid,I don't know if she's racist she probably is just repeating what she's heard from some other feckless ignoramus with 20 illegitimate kids.she doesn't seem to have the intelligence to grasp her own opinion on anything other than x factor.

Brian E Gorton
Some people should stay at home.A lot of people are not fit to be let out.Am I now a RACIST!!!!!

krafty81
Agreed

Robinson56Chris
If you could be a little clearer about what it is you mean exactly, I might be able to advise you.

Louisa Gieldon
Brian, who sould stay at home? What kind of people are not fit to be let ot? Maybe you are a racist? As Chris has said, if you explain what you mean, then maybe some of us will give you our opinion about that

simon calvert
Brian, can you articulate yourself any more coherently.?...somehow,I doubt it....

dave
What would happen to Britain if every white person in South Africa, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. were to 'go home where you belong'?

Obviuosly hit a home truth here judging by the thumbs down.

it wouldn't be a problem beacause white ppl are generally decent, law abiding, productive members of society.

hit "home truth's" or "none racist people", dave?

dave
KneecapsNorman - please explain what you mean. Does that mean that members of a certain right wing party in Germany in the 1930s were acceptable in commiting atrocities because they were white? Or that the Archbishop of York is a criminal because he is black?

Robinson56Chris
Excellent point in your original comment, Dave. I also have made that argument in the past. Racists don't really have a viable answer to it for obvious reasons.

Louisa Gieldon
Kneecaps you are beyond contempt, if you even know what that means.

KneecapsNorman
i just love having a debate with you left-wing brainwashed drongo's. you are all so blinkered. and why do you always have to bring the n a z i's up in arguments? nobody here has ever expressed any admiration for that era in history so what has that got to do with anything.

Louisa Gieldon
Kneecaps, like I said, beyond contempt. From a left wing, brainwashed, blimkered drongo (and still beter than you).

Princess Angelique
I'm wondering if she's recently suffered a bad experience, she's drunk/high, or simply a sandwich short of a picnic!

blue side
Strange Princess well done you are the only one I can see who has had the capacity to think outside the box. To it no one knows what went on prior to her outburst all of which might be contributory factors and justifiable. I wish some of the minus signs would walk through my cities streets then they could feel the outsider.

Louisa Gieldon
Or just a horrible racist pig - that's an option too.

Louisa Gieldon
Blue side, there really isn't an ecxuse for this sort of behviour. On my recent holiday a black bus driver was extremely rude to me and my family. I told him that i thought he was very rude. I would not have even thought to bring his colour into my criticism of his behaviour. And incidentally i would be just as critical of a person of any ethnic group who abused other because they were different to themselves. It's utterly unacceptable and you shouldn't look for excuses. Amd i certainly do not feel that i cannot think outside the box!

Louisa Gieldon
Prncess, she doesn't come across as unhinged or unwell. just repellent

simon calvert
You wouldn't want to take her home to meet your mum would you.... A considerable lowlife that's for sure.

blue side
Louisa I admire and respect what you say however having seen the negative (or is it positive) racial prejudice to simply tell someone to go home is hardly, in my books, racial abuse. That said it is yours and others overly sensitive approach which f u e l s racial intolerance. It has been shown the Race Relations Act had a negative effect. By the way before all the minus sign brigade start I have two very dear friends who are black, had university friends who were Asian and several East Europeans so please do not suggest I am a racist though I am of an age to have seen the real world. For the record F U E L S is now a swear word according to Orange which must remember next time I F U E L my car.

Louisa Gieldon
blue side, her behaviour was terrible- threatening and aggresive to those around her. I fuly accept that it can be challenging. particularly to elderly pwople, to see the dempgraphic composition of their towns change. We are not very good at integrating and i wish we could get better at it. Incidentally i had a discussion with my partner tonight before i read this item. I was saying that i am not always sure that prosecution is the best way to proceed when racially motivated tirades like this occur. I do believe it's a difficult balance.

Louisa Gieldon
I don' t think i am, personally, over sensitive and actually believe that we need to get better at coping with insults, each and every one of us. I loathe all the sack 'em, sue 'em mentality when people verbally insult each other and think a very heavy handed approach can fan the flames. However she was disgusting - what if a black child, who didn't have the requisite blue eyes, had been on that train. Awful behaviour!

david
wait 1 minute all she said was go home so now this is a racist remark, yet a white man can be kicked to death in scotland by to asians who called him a white honkey .and this was not claimed as racist..sorry but i think some coloured people are using this to there advantage when things dont go there way.eg chelsea player said ref used the word monkey.i am not racist but some times it seems they have everything in there favour..

Robinson56Chris
Wish I had a quid every time I heard or read somebody using that phrase: 'I'm not racist, but...' Of course it's a racist remark. An awful lot of black and Asians were BORN here, and a lot have made this their home, they ARE home, so she is making a lot of assumptions, which is judgemental, which is prejudicial, which is racist...and if you can't see that, either it is because you are not informed OR maybe it is because you hold such racist views yourself. Which is it?

blue side
Robinson think about what is being said you have jumped in without the facts david is right

Louisa Gieldon
I am so sick and disgusted at you people who defend this kind of behaviour. To make it worse, you always seem to hide behing the "I'm not racist" remark. There are lots of good people in the world that you can admire and defend. This disgusting idiot is not one of them and the only reason i can see for comments like your own is that you are indeed racist

gengisken1227
Really David, havn't been attending the mandatory brainwashing and social re-engineering classes - you should know by now, it's only us whiteys who can be ra****, the same rules don't apply to the others.

krafty81
How is that racist? The report doesn't tell you who it was aimed at. My nan often tells Scottish people that cold call her she can't understand them. Does this make her a racist? The whole racist thing is becoming a joke.. And no I'm not racist but it reminds me of the story of the boy who cried wolf.

Robinson56Chris
There's that phrase again: 'I'm not a racist, but...' Of course that doesn't make your nan a racist. There are a lot of broad accents across these islands, depends who's speaking them. I sometimes have trouble with Geordie and Brummie and Irish and Jamaican patois. It doesn't make you racist. In answer to your original question 'how is that racist?' it says she was 'racially abusing passengers on the train' - the abuse was aimed at passengers. Use your imagination. Also, if she said it to me - a white Englishman - I would find her offensive because I don't want to listen to her BS. How does she know I haven't got a mixed race niece?

blue side
Robinson our kid yow aught to come ere and yow would see negative racism - r you r right i'm Brummie

Louisa Gieldon
Krafty, did ou actually listen to the soundtrack? Unless you share her opinion of all those not blessed with pink skin, blue eyes and blonde hair, i cannot understand why you are not disgusted. To not understand someone's accent is perfectly acceptable and cannty possibly be equated with an incident like this. If i had been on the train, i would have told her what i thought of her and her disgusting tirade. To defend this makes you sound exactly what you say you are not.

Is this item new or old?

Louisa Gieldon
No but it's constant and we need to be reminded of how shocking such incidents are. Most news isn't new. I am glad that her stupidity and downright badness is now being circulated.

d and d Phillips
For reasons which they could not comprehend, and in pursuance of a decision by default, on which they were never consulted, they found themselves made strangers in their own country. EP

Adrian Wagstaff
You'll notice, very much like Adolf Hitler, that woman is suggesting only blonde haired, blue eyed people should be living in her country. She is going on about pink skin, yet hers doesn't seem very pink. Similarly, her hair is just as black as his was. In addition, it is noticeable that the black people she was shouting at did not respond in the same way. They appeared to behave in a more civilised fashion.

Louisa Gieldon
What a wonderful example British citizenship this nasty stupid woman is. Agree with Adrian that it's interesting that she sounds off about those wonderful Aryan virtues of blue eyes and blonde hair whilst seemingly possessing neither! What a total balloon she is!

movvi
Stupid, foul-mouthed, bigoted woman. It's good that they are following this up, but I wonder if it had been another kind of tirade - not race-based - it would have made the news at all...

paul49
I totally agree with this woman who , it seems to me , has reached breaking point . She never asked for her country , town , street to be taken over by people whom she has nothing in common with. All those people who criticize her are just sheep who cant form an opinion different from the mainstream . Cowards who let themselves be told what to think by the BBC , the Media , and the whole education system we suffer from , All of which if you bother to research it , are controlled by the Liberal Left wing Idiots who demanded the mass immigration we suffer from now. This woman is brave enough to speak her mind and i admire her , but at the same time i pity her for the trouble she will be in for daring to speak her mind.

andy may
wrong paul, this women, whatever her beliefs, came across as an ignorant, uneducated m0r0n. if YOU bothered to research, you would find that the education system and bbc are not controlled by liberal 1diots. yes, police intervention seems needless but she could do with an education(she may even get to learn what gb gained from mass immigration in the 1950s)>

Louisa Gieldon
Paul it is your perogative to agree with whoever you wish. However she was wrong to speak to innocent fellow citizens in this way. This very angry and ugly minded woman deserves criticism for abusing people. Regardless of what her views on multiculturalism are, on a very basic level she was aggressive ignorant and rude. Who invited her to express her opinions on public transport?. She seserves all the criticism she will get. Look to beter paople than this for role models and heroest

movvi
Of course everyone's entitled to an opinion, but I resent being labelled a sheep who is "told what to think by the BBC"! What a bizarre generalisation to make - much more sheep-like and categorising than I have ever been!
