X Factor's Sam Bailey Asks Paparazzi For Respect

X Factor winner Sam Bailey has said she hopes the paparazzi will respect her family life now she has been catapulted to fame.

"With regards paparazzi being outside my house, I've got two children so I hope they'd have that respect," she told Sky News.

Reacting to former X Factor star Harry Styles of One Direction winning a court order to prevent a group of photographers from following him, she said she cannot yet get her head around the fame she will experience.

"I don't feel famous like that," she said.

"That's Harry Styles for crying out loud. I've just come out of a competition where I've been in a bubble so I can't see it like that yet ... but I'll get advice, I'll be OK".

The former prison warden added: "With regards to the intrusion side of it, hopefully they'll have respect for me - not interfering with my private life.

"It goes hand-in-hand, you have to make these sacrifices, but I'd give autographs, I don't mind giving people the time of day," she said, admitting she used to wait outside venues for East 17 and Take That stars when she was younger.

It is expected Bailey could follow in the footsteps of her favourite bands this weekend with a Christmas Number One.

Her debut single Skyscraper is currently at the top of the download charts, and she told Sky News it would be a dream come true if she is still up there at the weekend.

"It would be amazing; I listen to the Christmas Number One every year, so to think my single is in the running, it's just amazing," she said.

Bailey's debut album is expected to be released next Easter, but she might  be able to showcase some of her new material when she supports Beyonce on the London leg of her tour early next year.

"It's just another deer in the headlights moment," she said.

"This is Beyonce - she's going to have people screaming for her so I'm apprehensive but really excited".

Skyscraper is available to purchase now.
