Falling Dresser Kills Pennsylvania Sisters
Two toddlers have died after a dresser fell on them in their home in Pennsylvania.
Authorities said Ryeley Beatty, three, and her two-year-old sister Brooklyn were playing near the dresser when it toppled over on to them.
Police were investigating whether the weight of the toddlers climbing on open drawers caused the accident at their home in Aliquippa.
Brooklyn was pronounced dead at Heritage Valley Beaver hospital in Brighton on Friday.
She died of asphyxiation due to compression of her chest, according to a post-mortem examination.
Ryeley died at the Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville on Sunday.
Neighbour Joseph Sheppard told WTAE news: "When I heard that, I couldn't do nothing. Tears just ran down my eyes.
"I mean, it's a tragedy on a day like this, the Fourth of July. You wake up to something like this, it's just, it's not real."
