Zoo Adopts Baby Cheetah Rejected by Mum
A six-week-old cheetah that was rejected by its mother in the wild has been given a new home at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
The young cat has been paired with a 'cuddling companion', a seven-week-old Rhodesian ridgeback puppy named Raina.
Keepers want the duo to live together 24-hours a day, hoping the young cheetah will learn "social skills" from the puppy as they grow up together.
"They definitely like to play. When they do take naps, they'll very often snuggle up together and just get that warmth and that closeness," said animal training manager Suzie Ekard.
