Designer's blinged up £130,000 iPad
A British designer has created a diamond-studded, gold-plated version of the new Apple iPad - on sale for £129,995.
Stuart Hughes, from Liverpool, previously created diamond-encrusted Blackberrys and a £300,000 gold-plated Nintendo Wii 'Supreme'.
The golden iPad is covered in 22 carat gold and 53 individual diamonds set into the shape of the Apple logo on the back of the iPad.
Mr Hughes says his take on the iPad is "outstanding even down to the precise polishing to reveal its most beautiful harmonious appearance".
It is however, 185 times more expensive than the top-of-the-range 64GB WiFi + 3G iPad. On the up-side delivery is free.
For those who can't afford the pricier option Mr Hughes also offers a 'budget' gold-plated iPad for a more wallet-friendly £2,000.
He said: "The process works for objects and gadgets people can relate to, and when we're finished with the products they can often look bizarre and outrageous
"We have gone for the higher end of the gadget end market. When someone spends £80,000 on an expensive car, they don't want to drive it home and find their next door neighbour has got the same one.
"It's all about having something different, and that's what we provide."
