Daredevil completes backflip in a Mini

A daredevil rally driver has performed the world's first 360 degree back-flip in a car in the French Alps.

Guerlain Chicherit, 31, successfully landed the Mini car after a 75ft jump for the stunt, at Tignes, which took four years to plan.

"Before the jump it was crazy. I was alone in the car before the start and I just had to do it, everything was ready," he said.

"I had to arrive at 60kph and be full throttle in the kicker to get the right rotation.

"In the jump, I knew the balance of the car was good and it took me maybe 20 seconds to realise I had landed on my wheels.

"When you attempt something nobody has ever achieved before, the stress is really high but the only way is to just try it."

He first completed the stunt in private and then repeated the feat in front of thousands of fans as a part of an event set up by the makers of Monster energy drink.

rubbish. If that massive snow ramp had not been there he would have overspun. Do it WITHOUT the snow ramp and then I'll be impressed. All he's done is flip the car and placed something to land on at the exact height needed to claim this "record" fake fake fake.

Christ 4 years to plan that!! I presume he is French they probably spent 3 years and 360 days eating, drinking and smoking and then decided to have a go. How does it differ in skill from the barrell roll in James Bond the "Man with the Gold Gun"? That didn't take 4 years to plan! if I remember the original stuntman who was goingto do it was ill and a stand it said " Yeah I'lll have a go at it" and that was that!!
