Ducks get their own police escort

A family of ducks were honoured with their very own police escort as they attempted to cross a busy motorway in Texas.

The incident was captured on camera as the group of ducks struggled to cross the busy road as cars whizzed past them.

However, help was on hand for the ducks when a team of police officers pulled over to give them some support.

Officers managed to halt the oncoming traffic, and then escorted the ducks across the motorway.

The group eventually made it across the great divide safe and sound, after the ducklings followed their mother's lead one behind the other.

One straggler was in danger of being left behind - but one of the police officers scooped it up in his hands.

A clip of the incident was uploaded on YouTube where it has attracted thousands of hits.
