Flash mob wedding proposal

A US man turned his marriage proposal into a flash mob event involving hundreds of people and 300 flowers.

The man, known only as Jack from Boston, surprised his girlfriend Teresa Elsey by planning a military-style operation in Boston, Massachusetts.

He arranged for hundreds of strangers to approach and give her a flower as they headed for an after-work date at the Institute of Contemporary Art.

As Miss Elsey became surrounded by a huge crowd of flower wielding well-wishers, the young man took the opportunity to slip away and change into a tuxedo.

He returned minutes later with a microphone before getting down on one knee and asking his girlfriend for her hand in marriage, to which she responded: "Of course."

Jack said: "Teresa and I both knew we were going to get married eventually, although we'd never really said it out loud.

"So, since I wasn't too nervous about the question itself, I decided to come up with a ridiculously complicated plan to worry about instead.

"When she suggested a date to the ICA, where we'd gone on our first date, it seemed like the perfect time."

The video has since been uploaded onto YouTube where it has racked up more than 200,000 views.
