Gender-bending supermodel

A androgynous supermodel will break new ground at New York Fashion Week by strutting the catwalk as both a man and a woman.

Even though he is a man, Serbian Andrej Pejic, 20, has featured in ads for push-up bras, modelled wedding gowns and graced the covers of countless women's style magazines.

Represented by Storm Models - the same agency as Kate Moss - he was catapulted into modelling high-end women's fashion by Carine Roitfeld, the former editor of Vogue Paris.

"My agency did ask me if I was comfortable with it, but I've been dressing in skirts since I was very little, so for me it was, 'Of course'," he said.
